7 DAY MAASAI MARA –NAKURU –AMBOSELI SAFARI

Safari Overview
Excellent choice for one seeking to explore Kenya’s premier wildlife reserves in luxury way. The tour takes you through the spectacularly scenic Great Rift Valley to the dotted plains the home of the Maasai. The maasai Mara is the epitome of African wildlife and the stomping ground of the  Big 5. All the African big cats are spotted here.

 From Maasai Mara, the safari takes you to lake Nakuru national park “the birdwatchers paradise and also a sanctuary for the endangered black and white Rhino (this park has one of the biggest concentration of rhinos in Africa)”. Other animals found here include vast herds of African Cape buffalo, water bucks, Rothschild giraffe and several prides of tree climbing lions among many. This is also one of the Great Rift Valley lakes. The tour finally takes you to explore Amboseli National Park, lying in the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro on the Kenya/Tanzania border. See the view immense of Mt Kilimanjaro and large herds of elephants

The Itinerary

 

DAY 1 NAIROBI – MASAI MARA
You shall be picked from your hotel or appointed rallying point early morning,depart to Maasai Mara game reserve stopping at the view point of the Rift valley whose view of the valley below is splendidly panoramic and Narok town for a break and refueling.
Arrive in time for lunch, after your lunch break; proceed for a late afternoon game drive, Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight

 

DAY 2 MAASAI MARA
Early breakfast followed by a full day of game drives within the reserve Maasai Mara is famous for vast rolling plains and round hills of intermittent groves of acacia woodlands and dense thickets of shrubs. A picnic lunch at the hippo pool gives you a chance to spot crocodiles and hippos basking on the rocks you should expect to see three major animals of the big five namely The elephant lion and buffalo the leopard and Rhino are shy and elusive and you will be lucky to spot them, large herds of wild beasts zebras maasai giraffe can be sighted as well as scavengers like hyenas and vultures, Rest of the meals and overnight at your lodge

 

DAY 3 MASAI MARA
After breakfast depart on a morning game drive in this reserve which is essentially the Northern extension of Tanzanians Serengeti National park take your lunch on your lodge or campsite In the afternoon you have a choice of three activities, a game drive , a nature walk with a native maasai guide or alternatively visit a maasai village and learn their nomadic lifestyle (at an extra cost ) payable directly to the maasai village elders after the activities return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

 

DAY 4 MASAI MARA – NAKURU
Early morning breakfast and departure for Nakuru, you will drive through the Mau catchment area which is one of Kenya’s water towers and the life line to Maasai mara. Arrive to Nakuru in time for lunch and a little relaxation before you head out for a sunset safari, spotting game and watching for the many a bird here while experiencing the setting of the African sun, as it retires behind the hills.

DAY 5 LAKE NAKURU – AMBOSELI

After your breakfast you will have a morning game viewing session in lake Nakuru national park to view flamingoes that are famous in the park and other water birds like pelicans plains game like the cape buffalo giraffe and baboons .You will set off for Amboseli with a stopover at Nairobi for lunch then proceed to Amboseli national park arriving late in the evening have an en route game drive on your way to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

 

DAY 6 AMBOSELI
Wake up early for coffee or tea then head out for a sunrise safari, during this time you are likely to see a clear view of the peak of Mt Kilimanjaro Return to your lodge camp for breakfast thereafter proceed for another game drive in search for big game and other plains game like wildebeests giraffe and the antelopes. Spot hippos mostly on the shores the semi-permanent lakes.  Birdlife is also prominent like Maasai ostrich the aquatic little grapes long tailed cormorants African pelicans, goliath purple herons among others. Return for your lunch and a break to your lodge
Go out for a sunset safari expecting to spot large herds of Elephants Elands, coke hartebeest, white bearded gnu among others. Then retire to your lodge for dinner and overnight rest.

 

DAY 7 AMBOSELI – NAIROBI

Sunrise safari then proceeds for a late breakfast. Depart for Nairobi with your lunch en route Arrive in Nairobi early evening.
